If you can’t sign in to your SeatGeek account, the most common reasons are an incorrect password, a locked account after multiple login attempts, or a required password reset for security reasons.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot common sign-in issues.
First: check your login details
If you're having trouble signing in, start by checking your email and password.
- Make sure there are no typos in your email address.
- Check that Caps Lock is turned off.
- Confirm you are entering the correct password.
If you forgot your password, you can reset it by following the steps in How do I reset my SeatGeek password?
Why your account may be locked
SeatGeek may temporarily lock an account to protect your security.
This can happen if:
- There are multiple unsuccessful login attempts
- The account has been inactive for a long period of time
- We detect activity that suggests your login credentials may not be secure
If your account has been locked and you cannot regain access by resetting your password, please contact SeatGeek support for help restoring access.

Why you may be asked to change your password
In some cases, SeatGeek may ask you to reset your password if we detect activity that suggests your login credentials may no longer be secure.
This can happen if the same password has been used on multiple websites and one of those services experiences a security breach.
As a precaution, we may temporarily lock your account and sign out active sessions until your password is updated.
Resetting your password will restore access to your account.
For additional protection, we strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) .
What makes a password strong and secure?
A strong password helps protect your account from unauthorized access.
Secure passwords usually include:
- At least 12 characters
- A mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
- Numbers (0–9)
- Special characters such as !, @, #, or $
Avoid passwords that contain easily guessed information such as your name, birthdate, or common words.
For better security:
- Avoid reusing passwords across different websites.
- Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong passwords.
- Create "passphrases" made from unrelated words, numbers, and symbols.
What happens if I don’t update my password?
If your password was exposed elsewhere and not updated, someone could attempt to use it to access your account.
SeatGeek may require additional security checks such as two-factor authentication when you sign in.
The best way to protect your account is to reset your password to a strong, unique password that you do not use anywhere else.
