What's a payout method?

A payout method is where you’ll receive payment for tickets you have sold on SeatGeek - like team credit (for select partner teams) and bank accounts. For most events, you will receive your payout for sold tickets within 5 business days after the event takes place. 

We currently support payouts to residents within the United States (excluding US territories) with United States bank accounts and Canadian residents with Canadian bank accounts. The bank account used as a payout method must be owned by the SeatGeek account owner. Accounts must also accept payout in the currency of the bank's nation (e.g. Canadian Banks must accept payouts in CAD and U.S. bank accounts must accept payouts in USD).

In some cases, select United States and Canadian bank accounts may not be supported.

  1. Log in and visit seatgeek.com/account. You can also add a payout method when you list tickets for sale for the first time.
  2. Select “Payments & shipping”
  3. Then, select the “Payout” tab
  4. Select “Add payout method”
  5. Finally, complete the prompts with your bank information to finish adding your payout method.

How many payout methods can I add?

You can currently only add one payout method to your account. You can edit your payout method by visiting the Account Settings page and navigating to the Payment & Shipping tab.

Can I change my payout method?

You can; however, it's important to remember that the active payout method at the time a payout is released is where the money will go. 

If you need to update your bank account information:

  1. Go to your Account page
  2. Select Payment & Shipping and then select the tab for Payout
  3. Click Bank Account
  4. When the pop-up window appears, enter your new routing number and account number. You will see any existing account information in each field, but you can simply overwrite the existing info
  5. Click Continue
  6. Review the details to make sure everything looks correct
  7. In the final window, select Save Payout Method
  8. That's it! Your payout method has been updated

How long will it take to get paid after selling tickets?

We will send your payout after the event ends, but it will take up to 5 business days for the money to appear in your bank account.

Why was I paid a different amount than I expected?

It is possible for payouts that happen at similar times to get grouped together, so you may notice this if you make multiple sales for events that happen on similar dates. Additionally, if you sold tickets in one currency and received it in another (CAD to USD), the disparity may be due to the exchange rates between USD and CAD.

I think I put the wrong bank information in. What should I do?

If your payout has not been initiated, just go to your Payment & Shipping page to correct your payout method with the steps above (see "Can I change my payout method?").

Your bank payout will automatically be processed again within 24 hours once the payout method is edited, but please still allow up to 5 days to receive your funds.
