How are physical tickets shipped or picked up?

Physical tickets include paper tickets and wearable credentials like wristbands, badges, and lanyards. Depending on the event, these tickets are either shipped to you before the event or picked up in person, often on the day of the event.

Some events require physical tickets instead of mobile or electronic tickets. The delivery method and timing are set by the venue and cannot be changed after purchase.

For an overview of all ticket delivery methods, see How and when will my tickets be delivered?

Paper or hardstock tickets

Hardstock tickets are traditional paper or cardstock tickets shipped to you via carriers like UPS or FedEx.

These tickets are often shipped a few weeks before the event, but sometimes closer to the event date. In some cases, they may arrive just a day or two before the event.

Once your tickets ship, you’ll receive a tracking number. Ticket release dates are determined by the venue or seller. Shipping timelines generally cannot be expedited.

If you’re traveling for your event, we recommend using a secure delivery address near the venue, such as a hotel, Airbnb, or UPS location.

Local pickup and will call

Local pickup tickets must be collected in person. These may be held at the venue’s will call window or at a local ticket office.

Most local pickup tickets are collected on the day of the event. Pickup details—including location, hours, and required identification—will be sent to you as the event approaches.

Local pickup tickets are relatively rare but are sometimes required for specific events.

Wristbands, badges, and lanyards

Some events—especially multi-day festivals, conferences, and golf tournaments— use wearable tickets such as wristbands, badges, or lanyards.

These tickets may be shipped shortly before the event or made available for pickup at will call. Your order confirmation email will specify which delivery method applies.

Important

Wristbands are usually not reusable. Once tightened or closed, they generally cannot be loosened or replaced.

We strongly recommend putting your wristband on only when you’re on your way to the event.
