What happens if my event is postponed, rained out, or canceled?

Sometimes the weather will prevent a game from being played or a performer may get injured and have to postpone the event. Thankfully, when events are rescheduled, oftentimes, your tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.

If the event was canceled without a make-up date then you will receive a refund for your order within 3-5 business days of the cancellation being confirmed. We recommend checking the venue or performer's website for more information regarding canceled events.

If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you can resell your ticket on the SeatGeek Marketplace to try and recoup your funds. Click here for instructions on how to list your tickets for sale.

What about rained-out games?

With MLB there is a high likelihood that weather will play a factor in the scheduling of games. This means MLB games are more likely to experience what is known as a rainout.

When a rainout occurs the affected game can either be delayed/postponed or rescheduled. If the event is postponed or delayed due to weather, the game is usually played later that same day, once the weather clears.

If the venue is requiring an exchange of tickets in order to attend the rescheduled event please contact us and our Event Experts can assist you.
What happens if I have tickets for a playoff game that doesn’t happen?
Often times in a best of 5 or best of 7 series, we will have a listing for a TBD or If necessary game. If the series ends before that game would be scheduled to take place, you will receive a refund for your order the series is confirmed as concluded.
